What do you type into the search engine? Ramble on Rose+Althea? Thanks again PG and sorry to make you do something that I should be able to do myself. I do appreciate the efforts.

While you can spend $50 to $100 on the book, the site for deadbase is absolutely free and is invaluable when searching for shows, songs, dates, venues etc. Believe me, I didn't type out that list of shows, I simply copied and pasted it to my post.

http://deadbase.com/

When you get to the site click on "search" at the top left in the green column. you will get to a page that allows you to search for shows by date, day of week, venue, set list (songs) and comments (Additional artists etc)

In the set list I just entered "Ramble" in the first space and "Althea" in the second and pressed "submit" and yI got a list of all shows that had those two songs. If you click on a show it will give you all info on that show.

I remember being lost when I first tried using it. Even though it may be obvious to most, I just wanted to add a bit more @ deadbase online. The search page is divided into three sections, separated by two horizontal lines that can be dragged with the mouse to expand that section. In conjunction with the scroll bars this feature makes it easier to use and view.

My hardcover DeadBase will always have a cherished place on this deadhead’s shelf. Today the internet has provided us with easy and more updated search capabilities, but there is something delightful about leafing through those worn pages, flipping from one section to the next on a quest for one fact or another. Just remember that much has been updated elsewhere online since the last edition, and that deadbase.com was last updated in 2002.

Jody , the key bit in PGs' post is the Deadbase part . It's not cheap , but Amazon has Deadbase 10 ( X ) , for $ 90 . If you are on IA posting , it probably will be money well spent . I have IX and I believe it cost $50ish in the mid - nineties .
It is The Best GD reference book . Its actually been used in civil court as evidence , though many gaps have been , and continue to be filled in . Get yours today and you can be referencing like a pro !

I went to deadbase.com that has a search engine that I thought he was using. I just thought I didn't enter the query correctly. Thank you for the heads up micah. Have a fabulous saturday. So, just out of curiosity, what area of the country are you in?
